In the early 1990’s HIV/AIDS was a glaring epidemic in American society. People living with HIV/AIDS had nowhere to go; only a few hospitals would accept people living with the disease for care, HIV education was limited, and although information about HIV/AIDS was published, it was rarely read by the general public. |
